Companies working in Arts in terms of Freedom of Expression
Damanat Foundation for Rights and Freedoms organized the event. The event has hosted Mohanned AL sheikh , the Head of ''Massive Technology'' Company which works in visual arts and animation works. He presented information about the companies that work in arts as an introduction in addition to making a view on the situation of freedom of expressin and how the companies that work in the arts in Yemen have managed with low limits of freedom of expression.
Then, Mohammed Al-Mahdi, Chairman of Shift Cinema Foundation in Yemen presented a historical perspective about cinema in Yemen since the Revolution in the 1960s with his pursue on the situation of cinema during the subsequent years until they were closed completely for some time. He then discussed the emergence of new forms of cinema houses in business centers currently as well as the entry of television and Internet and their impact on the deterioration of the situation of cinema. Furthermore, he tackled the situation of freedom of expression and how it increased the deterioration of cinema in Yemen either in display, producers or filmmakers of independent youth, nongovernmental organizations or youth initiatives.
