On Saturday November11th,2013 under the slogan of awareness of Intellectual Property Rights Builds the future, in collaboration with Ebhar Foundation for Childhood and Creativity, Dhamanat Foundation has conducted the activities of the 3rd conference of Intellectual Property Rights and the importance of including a constitutional article on intellectual property rights in the Yemeni Constitution, for more than 50 youth( men and women) representing different university faculties.
The aim of this meeting is to introduce the university’s environment, its relation to intellectual property rights as the richest environment in scientific, industrial, cultural, artistic and literary products. It is the best environment for conducting the planned activities that promote the incorporation of a constitutional article on intellectual property rights in Yemen.
Mr. Ahmed Ba’alasi, The executive manager of Damanat Foundation stated that the conference has been conducted 3 times where different segments like the independent journalists, activists, representatives of civil society, writers and creative people, university students and academics were introduce to the importance of integrating a constitutional article on intellectual property rights as per the recommendations of the NDC team of rights and freedoms.
Mr. Ba’alasi added that the university environment is the most important environment for the promoting the property rights as it is the place where students learn and works on the arts of drawing, writings, color, engraving, sculpture or architecture. In addition to the seminars, speeches, lectures, and the theatrical, musical, photographic and cinematographic works, maps and geographical graphs and designs. Universities also encourage students to create stereoscopic works and prepare presentations, programs for the radios or TV stations, and works related to practice arts, books, brochures, publications, computer programs, audiovisual works and architecture. Sculpture and printing on stone and on fabrics.
A signing campaign was held to demand to add a special article on intellectual property rights in the Yemeni constitution, Sana'a University students signed and submitted the list to the authorities as a step of raising the public's claims about the new articles of the Yemeni Constitution
